We are located in Alberta, Canada & we are breeders of Portuguese Water Dogs.  We got our start with the breed over a decade ago and have never looked back.  We take pride in our quality of dogs and the ability to demonstrate our dogs' exceptional health, sound temperament & stellar work drive.  Much time, effort & resources are spent showing our dogs in numerous conformation and performance competitions.  This is confirms that our dogs can compete with the top dogs in our breed structurally (according to breed standard) as well as demonstrating the ability to perform in water, obedience & much more.  We have done this on a local level and have also competed internationally with much success...    
This is not take away from our strong cuddling program which we love to spend time doing :).

Dogs have always been a part of our lives since childhood!
Our start with a serious breeding program was back in 1990 when we got our first German Shorthaired Pointer.  The pointer obsession grew for almost 2 decades with much field training, family hunting and a small quality breeding program.  This amazing journey came to a halt after having a family member develop severe allergies.  
After many years of contemplating different hypoallergenic breeds, it was decided that we would finally add a 4 legged family member.  This would once again provide us with all the love that we were accustomed to having, but without the allergies.  After much research, we quickly realized that the Portuguese Water Dog did not have much competition. The PWD checked all the boxes in regards to its perfect medium robust size, extreme intelligence, spirited attitude, obedient nature, enthusiasm for work & loving yet charming personality.

 Our first PWD "Tikka" was added to the family in 2012. Tikka has gone to achieve her Canine Good Citizen, Working Water Dog Excellent Title and Rally Novice Title. She is a loving laid back PWD that is eager to please in exchange for praise, attention and much love. She is currently working towards her Courier Water Dog Title. 


Our Second PWD "Jade" was added to the family in 2018. Jade came to us from WHOOSH PWDs. Jade is an extremely enthusiastic PWD with a temperament that could not be more sound. We have a training program with Jade that involves lots of fun, enthusiasm (to match her personality) and reward.  Along with all her performance achievements/titles, Jade was able to attend and compete at the 2019 PWDCA National Specialty in Greeley Colorado where she was awarded FIRST PLACE in her age class and went on to secure RESERVE WINNERS BITCH obtaining a 3 point major. Jade Finished Her AKC Conformation Championship Title with 4 back to back majors.
Our 3rd PWD Miller joined our family in Nov of 2020 when he flew home with us from SC. Miller comes to us from ROBEL PWDs.  Since his arrival, Miller has brought much excitement to our home with his outgoing personality and spunk. Miller fits in great with our girls Tikka & Jade.  By the age of 2 Miller had accomplished a total of 18 titles within Conformation, Obedience and much more.  In Aug 2022, Miller won Winners Dog at the 2022 PWDCA National Specialty, achieving his last major win and attaining his American Championship title.  He continues to mature into a handsome dog and will soon be back in the ring to compete with all the big boys.

We are H2O Portuguese Water Dogs and we’re breeders of Portuguese water dogs in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We’ve been breeding for over 2 decades now! 

Dogs have been a part of our lives since childhood. We started with a serious breeding program back in 1998 when we got our first German Shorthaired Pointer. The pointer obsession grew for almost 2 decades with much field training, family hunting and a small quality breeding program. However, a family member developed severe allergies, due to which the amazing journey came to a halt. 

We researched hypoallergenic breeds for many years and finally found the right 4-legged friend that was 100% safe for even sensitive family members. The Portuguese water dog was perfect- it had a robust, medium size, extreme intelligence, a spirited attitude, was obedient and at the same time full of enthusiasm for learning! On top of that, the PWD dog had a charming personality!

Tikka:

Since his arrival, Miller has brought much excitement to our home with his outgoing personality and spunk.  Miller fits in great with our girls Tikka & Jade; they mentor him in obedience and water work.  Stay tuned for all his upcoming accomplishments ;).  In Jan 2021, Miller secured a 2nd place Working Group win at 4 months old.  He continues to develop into a very handsome boy and will soon be back in the ring to compete with all the big boys.
